About

"That'll never happen to me!" I wish I had a dime for every time I've heard that phrase.  Most people never believed they would be dealing with life's toughest issues. Life has a way of "tossing" us around without much consideration as to who we are or who we know. "Life IS difficult!"

I've had a front row seat in seeing people with "hurts, hang ups, and habits," which have had devastating consequences for individuals, families, churches, and even corporate America.

You never expected you would lose your best friend, lose your job, or face a moral failure. You never expected that you, of all people, would have alcohol control your life. You never believed you could be so far away from God who was at one time so near. You never dreamed that intimacy with your marriage partner could have ever gotten this distant and this cold. You never conceived that you would be so depressed that you can't face one more day. You never thought it would or could happen to you....

If any of these thoughts or experiences describe your life or that of a loved one or friend, you may need the help of a caring, trained professional counselor to help discover a healthy way of "care-fronting" those whom you love. Means Family Counseling Center is just the place to find that help.

Unfortunately, often the "cultural church" has been in denial of some shocking facts! Our churches and communities are filled with people who are struggling with pain, shame, and addictive behavior.

Unfortunately, life-controlling issues are now more than alcohol or drugs. Rage, perfectionism, sexual addiction, INTERNET pornography, eating disorders, and even workaholics have toxic impacts on families, church, and work.

Unfortunately, our society is becoming more and more complex. Kids now have at least three or four sets of grandparents. Sexual addiction for men and women is growing at an exponential rate. Divorce is at an all time high, even among Christians. This is our reality.

Where does one turn for safety, confidentiality, spirituality and healthy support?

FORTUNATELY, Means Family Counseling Center is here and provides a safe place, especially for those with hurts, hang ups, and habits. Give us a call and one of our friendly, caring, professional therapists will be more than happy to help you "heal one hurt at a time." Because hope's one thing that people can't live without.
